Interview Prep Tips

When you get called for a job interview, it is important to make sure that you are thoroughly prepared. Below is a list of tips and resources of to help you not only get prepared for your job interview, but to help you get the job as well.

  • Look at job interviews as structured conversations
  • Research the company before you go for the interview; know who you are meeting with
  • Prepare questions to ask the interviewer
  • Get directions to the business location before you go
  • Arrive at least 10 minutes early
  • Take copies of your resume or application
  • Dress professionally
  • Send a thank you note to follow up, either handwritten or electronic, but send it to the interviewer immediately
  • Practice interviewing with a family member or friends
